Under the leadership of Rebecca Pang, Regional Vice President, BC Commercial Financial Services, RBC Royal Bank, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Western Canada (CCIFWC) is pleased to host the next session of its Executive Roundtable, an invitation-only gathering of senior leaders from French and Canadian organizations across Western Canada.

We are pleased to share that Raphaël Dang, Consul General of France in Vancouver, will again join the discussion.

This executive lunch roundtable is designed as a focused, confidential space for C-suite and senior decision-makers to step back from day-to-day operations and engage in candid conversation on the realities shaping their businesses in early 2026 — what is shifting, what is accelerating, and where leadership attention is most needed.

    The discussion will centre on:

    • Current economic and geopolitical signals impacting Canada–France business relations

    • How leaders are navigating uncertainty, productivity pressures, and growth priorities in the months ahead

    • Trade diversification and collaboration opportunities, including practical perspectives on Europe as both a market and a partner under CETA

    • Cross-sector insights spanning energy, infrastructure, technology, and innovation

The conversation will take place in a seated roundtable format, accompanied by a privately catered three-course lunch, hosted on the 36th floor of the RBC Tower, offering sweeping views over English Bay and the city — a setting designed to encourage thoughtful dialogue and meaningful peer exchange.

Participation is by invitation only, with attendance intentionally limited to preserve the quality and depth of the discussion.

This event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Western Canada in collaboration with RBC Royal Bank.

This hybrid seminar will provide a practical overview of key differences in Canadian workplace law, with a comparative perspective for French employers and employees operating or working in Canada.

The session will address the following topics:

    • Work-based social security coverages: less coverage at lower cost

    • More powerful, less political unions

    • Greater flexibility in hours of work, but high overtime costs

    • Greater freedom to terminate employment, often at a high cost

    • Limited ability to prevent departing employees from competing

The seminar is designed for CCICW members, CCIT members, and interested non-members seeking to better understand the Canadian legal framework governing employment relationships.
